Our app keeps failing

Your app keeps failing. Let’s find out why.

The same errors come back. Logins fail on busy days. Emails do not arrive. Something breaks after every update. Each incident gets patched, but nobody has time to find the cause. We investigate, stabilise the parts your business depends on, and then keep them stable.

Symptoms

Recurring failures usually look like this

  • Outages and crashes

The app goes down, restarts, or becomes unreachable, often at the worst possible moment.
  • Errors users report before you notice

Failed logins, missing data, emails that never arrive, uploads that disappear.
  • Everything gets slower

Pages and reports that used to be quick now time out as the data grows.
  • Every update breaks something

No tests and no safe way to release, so each fix is a gamble.
  • Storage, quota or certificate limits

Disks fill up, a plan limit is hit or a certificate expires, and the app stops without warning.
  • Nobody can say why

There are no useful logs or monitoring, so each incident starts from zero.

Our approach

From firefighting to a stable system

  1. Collect the evidence

We read the logs, error reports and monitoring data that exist, and add basic error tracking where there is none.
  2. Find root causes where we can

We trace recurring incidents back to their cause in the code, the infrastructure or a third-party service, rather than patching the symptom again.
  3. Stabilise what matters most

Fixes are ordered by business impact: the functions you cannot operate without come first.
  4. Prioritise the rest

Everything else goes on a written, prioritised remediation list that you approve.
  5. Prevent the next one

Monitoring and alerts, safer releases, and tests around the parts that broke.
  6. Keep it stable

Ongoing maintenance and incident response under a support plan.
    About software support

What we will not promise

Some failures have a cause outside the code, such as a third-party service or the hosting provider, and some can only be found after they happen again with better monitoring in place. We will not promise that every failure is diagnosed or resolved within a fixed period. We will tell you what we found, what we fixed, and what we are still watching.

Useful to have ready for the first call

Helps us get to the cause faster

  • Roughly when the failures happen, and how often
  • Error messages or screenshots users have sent you
  • What changed recently: an update, more users, a new integration
  • Where the app is hosted and who has access to it

Where to start

The first step is an assessment

Before you commit to a support plan, find out exactly what you are dealing with. The software assessment is a fixed-scope review with a written report you keep either way.
  • Software assessment

You already run software and want to know what state it is in.

A written report on risks, maintainability and what it would take to support it safely.

Our work

Reliability work on a live platform

For a legal claims platform we resolved recurring failures in email delivery, storage limits that blocked logins and file sync that put uploads at risk, while the platform stayed in daily use.

FAQ

Questions we often hear

Can you start fixing before the assessment is finished?

If production is down, we agree an emergency scope first and stabilise, then do the full assessment. Otherwise we look before we change anything, because fixes made blind often cause the next incident.

Our app was built by another company. Is that a problem?

No. That is why we start by collecting evidence and reading the code before changing it: we assume nothing about how it was built.

Will we need to rebuild the app?

Usually not. Most recurring failures have a handful of causes that can be fixed. If the assessment shows a rebuild is cheaper over time, we will say so and explain why.
